Beautiful Flooring

Zach and Max helping clean up after the floor has been installed.

The yellow pine trim waiting to be painted in the basement.
Mike has been busy the past two days putting in the maple flooring, and it is stunning!!  These pictures don't do it justice, and it will look even better when it's sanded and sealed.  He has about 100 square feet left to finish, then we cover it up with cardboard until he has time to complete the job.  We can start to see that light at the end of the tunnel.  P.S. I don't know why the pictures have spots on them.  This camera is starting to show its age, I think.

Renovation Update

Ready for flooring.

The computer room is the same color as the entryway/mudroom.

Well things are still moving along; however, we've decided to wait a month to move back in so we can be sure that everything that needs to be done will get done.  With Anna's help we finished a good portion of the painting this weekend and are ready for the flooring to be installed on the first floor.  Terri and I are picking out lights and faucets, and Ken is taking a break for a week to catch up on his backlogged jobs.  If not for Ken and Anna we'd be sunk right now.  I don't know how else to relay that information, but without them we'd be looking at three or more months of work instead of one.  Hakia plans to install the tile in the upstairs bathroom this week, and Aaron will be doing electrical work in the basement.  Other than those two activities and the flooring this week will be quiet.  Doors will be delivered on Friday, and carpet gets installed on September 21.  I'm attaching some photos of the first floor rooms after they've been painted.  The front two rooms of the house (the entryway/mudroom and the computer room--the rooms carved out of the former porch) have been painted blue.  The remaining three rooms of the first floor (with the exception of the kitchen) have been painted a rich blue green.  Let us know what you think.  Look for more photos at the end of week.  We hope to be able to show you the maple floor at the end of this week--after it's been installed but before it's been sanded and sealed.
